Dear Husband,
I love you so much! Thank you for always making me laugh! I'm looking forward to going dancing with you this weekend.

Dear growling stomach,
No I will not feed you something sweet. I'm waiting for Jon to get home to satisfy you with something healthy for dinner.

Dear iphone,
Why did you decide to give me trouble one week after my warrently ran out? Please, give me a break and last just a little bit longer.

Dear ex-office manager,
The rent check we wrote out to you and you somehow changed the name on it along with other residents checks, you will be found!

Dear Old Navy,
I love all of the beautiful, bright clothes you have out right now but I can only dream because my new budget is not allowing me to go shopping at the moment.

Dear Followers,
I'm so excited that I am up to 36 followers! Thank you so much for all your sweet comments!

Dear weekend,
I'm glad you are here!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Post Card Pretties

I'm linking up today with Lyzz at Defying Gravity  and Amanda at For Love of a Cupcake for Post Card Pretties!!

I love snail mail! I love both sending it and receiving! Who doesn't??

I was paired up with Nicole over at Three31! The title of her blog actually reflects the month and date her and her husband got hitched! I think that is so sweet. Nicole is originally from Kentucky living in Joshua Texas which really isn't too far from me!  She also told me about a group of Texas Bloggers that is meeting up in Fort Worth in a few weeks! I'm so excited to have met such a sweet new friend through blogging and that I  may actually be able to meet in person.

I hope you can find time to go get to know Nicole! Her writings are hillarious and a wonderful thing I have learned about her is that she will be co-leading a mission trip to Haiti in October. This just melts my heart! Please keep her and her team in your prayers as they take this journey God has led them on to be His precious hands and feet.

So, Nicole kinda broke the rules a little bit! She sent me the cutest card instead of a postcard, but in all honestly I love it and I don't care! :) We did have a bit of a conversation through email that we actually prefer cards. I was supposed to break the rules with her but kinda ran our of time!

Ok, so I'm having a little problem with my computer and can't get the silly thing to flip! And on that note my ipnone is the best camera I have at the moment. So it is what is is....

Nicole wrote:
Hello Kristen!!
(First of all, how did your license exam go?)
Yay for another excuse to visit the local Hallmark store...thanks for being my "blog-y pen pal" ha! It's also cool that we live fairly close, I'm just 25 miles south of FW. *If* you don't have plans, a group of Texas Bloggers" (find the group on Facebook) is meeting Saturday, Sept 8 at 6:30 pm.....I know it's short notice, I know it's a "fer piece" to drive, BUT it would be amazing to meet you in person.
BIG hug! Let's stay in touch.
Nicole @ Three31

I love it! And if you look really closely and maybe flip your computer upside down, you will see that she crossed out "your birthday" and wrote, "Hope this card is tweet-worthy!!"

Doesn't she just sound the sweetest!? She asked me about my exam and actually invited me to a blogger meeting!! Yes, I am a blogger lol. I'm still new at it but someone has reached out to me and invited me to something that is for bloggers! I just felt so special when she told me about that.

Thank you Nicole for brightening my day with such a sweet card! I really hope we can become good friends! I will be seeing you soon!

Thank you to Amanda and Lyzz for hosting this postcard exchange! I think it was a great idea and I hope to do it again in the near future!

Have a great day!

Whomp Whomp

Well, I was prepared to take my licensure exam this morning at 8 am (approx. a 5 hour exam), drove to the testing center , but once I got there they tell me that the computer system crashed last night and that I will be unable to take my exam today. Seriously?! Preparing for this test has exhausted me both physically and mentally! I was shocked, felt really sick to my stomach and just cried...right there in front of them. I just couldn't help it!

As you can tell I'm really upset about this but what comforts me is knowing God has a plan for me and things happen for a reason. I thank my readers for leaving encouraging words and for your prayers this week. Please continue to pray if you will. I rescheduled the exam for September 13th.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Prayer Request

Hello ladies! I hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend! I visited Hobby Lobby this weekend and got some great Fall decor for the front porch! Can't wait to set it all up and show you all! I just love Fall :) Don't you?!

Anyway, if you didn't read my previous post from the other day, I had said that I was taking some time away from blogging this week because I have some other things I need to take care of. Well that "thing" I needed to take care of and have been preparing for is this Wednesday. I will be taking my licensure exam at 8am and it is a 4 hour exam. Please pray that I remain calm, focused and confident for the time leading up to the exam and throughout the entire time I'm taking it.

I really appreciate it and if there is anything you would like me to pray for you about, let me know!!

                                                     Have a great day,

Dear Husband, thank you for being so supportive! I love you with all my heart! Thank you for always being there for me, making me laugh and listening when I need someone to talk to. You are my everything.

Dear Pinterest, thank you so much for being so amazing!! You have made thrifting much more fun and exciting, decorating easy and has helped me step out of my comfort zone when it comes to shopping for clothes :)

Dear apartment owner, I can't wait to give our notice that we will be leaving you! This has been a great starter home for us, but we have dealt with enough frustration from you guys. So, goodbye!

Dear gym, please don't be too crowded tonight when I go workout! I'm speaking about the men who grunt and groan and take up all the equipment.

Dear God, thank you for watching over me and my family and providing me with everything that I need.

I can't believe it is already Friday! I feel like I just wrote this post! :) This is one of my favorite link ups with Lauren at From My Grey Desk ! Now, lets look back at all the great things that happened this week!

Photobucket

1. I bought a magazine at Home Depot the other day and it is wonderful. It's pretty much a guide to help you paint any surface and it helps you with color combinations!

2. My mom and I found some great stuff at Goodwill this past weekend!! I love thrifting! And the funny thing is, I actually think I enjoy it more than buying new stuff sometimes. I guess I use more of my creativity. Next week I'm going to start a "Thrifty Thursday" post that will continue every week!

3. Had lunch with my mother in law one day this week and went over to her house and saw the cute guest bedroom she redecorated! I love it!

4. We are moving next month!!! Not far at all but I'm really excited about this move :)

5. The power went out yesterday afternoon for some unknown reason so Jon and I decided to go bowling!! We had so much fun! I did beat him 3 times though!!! I was pretty proud :) We also went and had Chinese food at this little place I have never heard of. It was so good and Jon told me him and his family used to come here all the time when he was little. The same couple has owned the restaurant 28 years!

Hope everyone had a wonderful week!

I've been nominated....

I have been nominated for the Leibster Award by my sweet blogging friend, Kenzie! Check out her blog. She is so cute! I also want to thank Vanilla and Lime for nominating me too!! :)

The award is given to upcoming bloggers with less than 200 followers. "Liebster" is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome!

And this is how the Liebster Award works:

1. Each nominee must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the questions that the tagger set for you and create 11 questions for bloggers you've tagged.
3. Choose up to 11 bloggers and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.
5. No tag backs.

God is my anchor

Today I wanted to share with you one of the readings from my devotional. You can read about the devotional I'm referring to, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young on a previous post. This is the reading from August 6th that I keep going back to...I just wanted to share it with you and hope it brings comfort to you when it seems as if nothing is going right.

"When things seem to be going all wrong, stop and affirm your trust in Me. Camly bring these matters to Me, and leave them in My capable hands. Then, simply do the next thing. Stay in touch with me through thankful, trusting prayers, resting in My soverign control. Rejoice in Me--exult in the God of your salvation! As you trust in Me, I make your feet like the feet of a deer. I enable you to walk and make progress upon your high places of trouble, suffering, or responsibility."

It's so comforting to know that He is there with us through everything. I'm struggling with something right now, something that has really tugged at me emotionally and physcially. Something that sure has made me angry with God, but then again has made my faith stronger in Him than ever before. It is something I have wanted since I was a Junior in high school. I have recently graduated with my Masters degree in Occupational Therapy, but there is a big, no lets say HUGE hurdle that has decided to land right in front of me. There is an exam you have to complete that is approximatly 4 hours, that has costed us a pretty penny each time, yes each time. I have taken this stupid thing 3 times now. This last time I was literally 1 point away from making it. (I'm getting upset just typing this out now) I'm sharing this with you because it is just something I have needed to get off my chest, and hoping it will help you if you are going through something tough. I just ask for your prayers while I go through this time and hope that you remember to NEVER GIVE UP! "So that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil." Hebrews 6:18-19

Sunday Social

I'm linking up with Neely today for

Sunday Social

The post this week is all about food! YUM!

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza!! I love pizza! I could eat it cold or hot, for breakfast, lunch and dinner!! I like my pizza with pepperoni, lots and lots of cheese, green peppers and onions! Yum! This is making me hungry!

What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
Honestly, a quater pounder with cheese, french fries and a coke from McDonalds! That doesn't happen very often anymore though :/ I'm "tyring" to stay away from all fast food!

What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
Rocky Mountain Oysters...and I will never eat them again!

What foods do you avoid at all costs?
Almonds! They make me itchy and give me a red rash. I also avoid olives! Yuck!

Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
My mom's sausage cassarole! It is so good and cheesy! She always made it when we were growing up because it so easy. As we got older she started adding peppers and onions and it made it even better.

I would like to say thank you to all my followers! I have reached my goal of 20 and now hope to gain another 10! This makes me feel so good and I just love reading all of your comments! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
