Today I wanted to share with you one of the readings from my devotional. You can read about the devotional I'm referring to, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young on a previous post. This is the reading from August 6th that I keep going back to...I just wanted to share it with you and hope it brings comfort to you when it seems as if nothing is going right.
"When things seem to be going all wrong, stop and affirm your trust in Me. Camly bring these matters to Me, and leave them in My capable hands. Then, simply do the next thing. Stay in touch with me through thankful, trusting prayers, resting in My soverign control. Rejoice in Me--exult in the God of your salvation! As you trust in Me, I make your feet like the feet of a deer. I enable you to walk and make progress upon your high places of trouble, suffering, or responsibility."
It's so comforting to know that He is there with us through everything. I'm struggling with something right now, something that has really tugged at me emotionally and physcially. Something that sure has made me angry with God, but then again has made my faith stronger in Him than ever before. It is something I have wanted since I was a Junior in high school. I have recently graduated with my Masters degree in Occupational Therapy, but there is a big, no lets say HUGE hurdle that has decided to land right in front of me. There is an exam you have to complete that is approximatly 4 hours, that has costed us a pretty penny each time, yes each time. I have taken this stupid thing 3 times now. This last time I was literally 1 point away from making it. (I'm getting upset just typing this out now) I'm sharing this with you because it is just something I have needed to get off my chest, and hoping it will help you if you are going through something tough. I just ask for your prayers while I go through this time and hope that you remember to NEVER GIVE UP! "So that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil." Hebrews 6:18-19

Amen girl! Why worry when you can pray? Phil. 4:6 says... "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Hang in there Kristen... God's got this and YOU are talented!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for trusting us and sharing this! Keeping you in my prayers!
XO,
Kenz
Proud of you Kris. Stay strong...not many could face this hurdle with the steadfast faith that you've had. I agree with Kenzie, God's got this..God's got YOU in His hands..he gave you a passion, he gave you an education, and he gave you the strength to sit through that test 3 times, trust Him that He will give you the courage to face this test one more time, and shine like the OT star you are when it's over. Love always, Amy
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing and being honest! I agree with Amy, God has a plan for your life, and He will be with you every step of the way, no matter what happens. You can rest in His love and know that He will give you the strength to conquer this test! I'll be praying for you :)
ReplyDeleteCatching up on your posts - so glad I did! Our hope is sure and steadfast and an anchor of the soul - how awesome!! One of my favorite Scriptures (the one that my blog is based on, actually) is not too far from that reference - Hebrews 10:23 "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful." We serve an awesome God who is so faithful and I'm so thankful that we can place our trust and hopes in Him!
