Thrifty Treasure

I'm sure you remember my obsession with Goodwill! My most recent was this side table for our living room. I got it for $12 which is much better than the one I found a few weeks ago for $35! I believe it was made for this corner.

Here are a few other thrifty finds you may have missed.

Thrifty Christmas Treasures

It's time for another Thrifty Treasure post! Hunting for Christmas treasures is by far my favorite when it comes to thrifting! Many of these treasures were found last year when I was in Florida for a period of time. Goodwill usually starts putting out their Christmas items right before Halloween, so get there fast and go often!

I love this LENOX ornament! I found this last week at Goodwill for only 50 cents! I couldn't believe it!! It looked like someone had picked it up and then put it back down! I, of course, snatched it up!

This is a "LI BIEN" Ornament I found at a thrift store in Florida. I bought it for $3! I have a few more of these ornaments on the tree that were given to me.

I found this beautiful sled at a Goodwill in Florida for only $3 and I just had to have it! There are so many things I can do with it! I think next year I'm going to wrap little presents to put inside!

I love milk glass vases and I have 7 now and neither of them were purchased for over a $1. I went to an antique store over the weekend and they were selling them for $6 a piece! I have them all over the house like this and some have flowers.

I had mentioned in my Christmas Mantel Reveal post that my mantel decor only cost me $13 dollars this year! Well the only thing I bought this year was actually the pre-lit garland you see on the mantel from Walmart.

This is one of my most favorites! My mom found this at a Thrift Store in Houston a few years ago.

These Christmas place settings were found at a Goodwill in Florida. The dishes didn't cost more than $2 a piece. In the picture I matched the salad plate to the dinner plate, but I also like mixing them up! I found the red place mats at the Dollar Store and the pre-lit garland came from Walmart!

When the Christmas plates aren't being used, I display them on my gold plate stand I found for $2.

These were shown to you in a previous thrifty treasure post and this is what I did with them....

The tree was a find from last year at Goodwill too!!

This is on my coffee/tea bar which is now temporarily my hot chocolate bar!! You can see my post about the other thrifty treasures in this photo here!!

Aren't these penguin salt and pepper shakers the cutest!! I found these at Goodwill along with the candle holder that matched the napkin holder I already had!!

There is a look at my Christmas Thrifty Treasures!! I hope you have a great day and good luck with your finds!! Remember, going often is the key!!

InstaTuesday with Jane!

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a great week! I'm liking up with Jane at Taingamala
for....

If you missed my Thrifty Treasures post, you should check it out to see what treasures I have found for our bedroom.

Jon brought home flowers for me!! :)

Don't you HATE it when this happens!? I love this palate but I don't want to buy another one for just the one color.

What do you think about our new flower bed in the backyard?! Come spring we are hoping to plant some peppers, tomatoes and maybe some peas :)

Made this yummy treat the other night! Perfect for a little salty and sweet evening snack!

These are all the pics I had from this last week! It's your turn to link up with Jane and share what you captured this week!

Are you ready....

for another THRIFTY TREASURE post! I literally go to Goodwill on a weekly basis, about twice a week! I don't always get lucky, but when I do, I usually find some pretty good stuff!

I have been collecting items for my vintage vanity which was given to me by my mother in law along with a matching dresser.

Here is what it looks like right now...

There is still work to be done, I would like to find a stool (I'm just using a simple chair right now ) And I would like to find a lamp and little mirror on a stand. I found one at Trade Days I liked and I should have bought it...

Gold Tray- My mom found this for me at Trade Days in Fredricksburg

Small glass jar with gold lid- This belonged to my great grandmother. I was about 7 when she gave that to me and it has been empty ever since until the other day I filled it with my face cream I wear under my makeup

Tall glass jar with gold lid- Goodwill find!! I found that yesterday. It is an old Estee Lauder Perfum bottle and I filled it with my makeup remover

Tea cup- Goodwill find! I found that last week and decided to put my cotton balls in it

Clear glass jar- I don't remember where I got that but it used to hold small shells and now it is holding my q-tips

White milk glass vase- Goodwill find! I have about 7 of these now and still on the hunt for more

Gold picture frame- My grandparents are are the couple in the closest frame. My grandfather gave me that picture and frame a few years ago. One day without even looking I found one very similar at an antique store in Farmersville, TX and I put me and Jon's picture we took very similar on our wedding night

My great grandmother made the doilies which gives my vanity the perfect feminine touch.

I also found these Christmas tins this week at Goodwill! My plan is to make little treats to put in them and give them to our neighbors during the holidays.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a great week!!

Thrifty Treasures

Happy Thursday everyone! This week kicks off my first Thrifty Treasures post! I hope I can keep it up every week!

Thrifting and antiquing is by far my favorite thing to do! Our house is full of special finds, especially from Goodwill!

My Coffee/Tea Bar:

My husband and I are big coffee drinkers, so I decided to make a little area for just that. Looking at this picture can you pick out some thrifty treasures I have found?

There are a total of 7 items

3 cobalt blue bottles - Goodwill in McKinney, TX
White sugar bowl and creamer - Goodwill in Tampa, FL
Yellow sugar bowl with spoon (for Jon’s creamer) - Goodwill in Denton, TX
White canister with tan lid (there are 2 more on the counter for flour and sugar) – Goodwill in McKinney, TX (I have coffee in this one and soon I will be painting the top and adding some chalkboard labels)
Rack- is actually used to hang your towels on but my husband has always used it to hang his coffee mugs. He honestly can't remember where he found it.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and go check out a Goodwill weekend! You never know what treasures you may find!
