Fabric Button Earrings

While visiting my mom last week, we came across her old jar of buttons. Now, it was a miracle that we even found them because we searched high and low for those suckers about a year ago! Of course when you aren't looking for something, ah ha, you find it! In the button jar I found these Vintage, RISDON Self Cover Buttons! I couldn't figure out what year they were but they were only 50 cents! Now they are a whopping $4.00, but don't let that discourage you. I used a 40% off coupon and got them cheaper than that!

I decided to make earrings out of them! I'm sure you have seen them. I have seen them in the boutiques around town and on Etsy! I think they are so cute and classy. They remind me of the jewelry from the 50's :) Now, get started making yourself a pair for every outfit!!

Note: I chose to use 5/8 (1.6cm) sized buttons. I thought that was a good starting out size. I may make them bigger next time :) I think if you go any smaller, they won't turn out right.
