Fall Mantel Reveal!!!

I finally have a mantel to decorate!! I'm so excited, especially after seeing the beautiful and inspiring ways people have decorated theirs and pinned it on Pinterest!! I was working with a tight budget, but I think my "Fall" mantel turned out beautifully! Please, let me know what you think! I would also love to see pictures of your mantel!!

My inspiration came about when I went to my brother in law and his wife's house to search their attic for things they no longer are using. I was ecstatic when they said I could do this! I mean, who wouldn't be?! I also knew they had some beautiful paintings their grandmother had painted.

So the search began!!

My husband's grandmother was a great artist! She painted some beautiful paintings of the ocean, light houses, pastures with windmills and trees, barns, lakes, roses to only name a few. I mean they were gorgeous! While looking at all the beautiful paintngs I came upon the perfect one! It was just what I was picturing! It was painted with beautiful fall trees, a lake and a boy in a canoe.

Once I took it home, it sat on the mantel for a couple days and I started adding and taking things away. I took a trip to Hobby Lobby and purchased pumpkins for 40% off! I also found some grassy stuff to add to milk glass vases I found at a Goodwill last fall and have been using for all sorts of things around the house! I just love multipurposing things!

 I wanted to add burlap garland to the mantel like the ones I have seen all over pinterest. I even had all the supplies handy! I started by cutting out a pattern, traced it on the burlap, cut it out, and glued them to the twin.

Are you ready for the reveal?!!

Here you go!

I find it very simple and elegant! I just love it and I can't stop looking at it! :) I hope this gives you some inspiration to decorate your fall mantel! I would love to see pictures of what you have done!

Have a great day!

  1. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Your mantle is gorgeous (just like you) and I'm really impressed by that original painting ... no wonder you were so talented at our painting party. YOU SANDBAGGER!!!!!! I'm totally kidding, I love you to pieces and now I'm inspired to "clean up" my own mantle. Speaking of which, on my mantle right now is a SPRING floral arrangement in the big clay pot (silk hydrangeas and the like), candles and pillars that could probably suffice for Christmas, a hand-painted platter with our monogram, and a wine bottle that's been decorated with beads and has lights inside. Now that your mantle looks all wonderful and amazing, I'm thinking mine needs " a little " attention. {sigh}

    HUGS FOR FRIDAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I LOVE this!! Can I invite you to decorate my house?! I know I have the one mantle, but everything else in my house is an insane jumble! I'm sure it would look better if I could just get my sewing machine off of my dining room table so it could function again. HA!

    At first I read Nicole's comment and I thought you had painted the painting! Bob Ross LOOK OUT! haha! It's gorgeous!
